Review: I would like to stress how IMPORTANT it is to exfoliate your skin! Exfoliating helps remove the outer dead skin cells, which can clog pores, and cause skin troubles, so in order for your new skin to regenerate, it is vital to remove the waste built on the skin. I have used this product for more than 2 months, and I have decided to give the review now. When it comes to exfoliation, it needs to become a staple if you want your skin to appear clean and clear. I never recommend exfoliating products that have harsh beads or any type of beads because firstly, the beads just sweep onto the skin and do not remove all the dead skin cells, and second, some beads are actually harsh that they can tare the skin leading to pre-mature aging. I tested this out with a different exfoliate called CURE Natural Aqua Gel (which you guys probably are aware of). I exfoliated twice, first with a bead exfoliate and second with a exfoliating gel – a lot of my dead skin cells came out the second time – in my opinion, be skeptical with bead exfoliates as it may not remove all the dead skin cells off your face. Always look for non-abrasive exfoliants!!!

Nonetheless, this product is to be used twice per week. The gel is greenish-marine colour (we could honestly do without the color in this product it is not necessary!), and is a clear gel somewhat runny consistency. The scent is very fresh – almost smells like an ocean breeze haha. I used about a large coin size on my face (if you use too little, it will absorb right away, which will not allow you to massage the dead skin cells off). It is easily applied and forms a film on the face. You leave this for about 1 minute, however, in my experience, 30 seconds is good too. So, does this work? Yes it does!!! After a few seconds, I start massaging my face gently and these tiny balls start forming on top of your skin. The result is shiny and VERY DEWY skin. I found that this product also helps absorb my skin care products better. It keeps skin moist and hydrated – the Korean SA recommended this product for dry skin. Although I have normal, I did not mind the extra moisture! As for oily skin, it is fine to use this product, but because it may be a tad bit rich, a great tip is to use it before cleansing, and then cleanse afterwards. I absolutely love this gel exfoliate, and I highly recommend it!!!

  1. Which brand did you like better?

I am guilty for using harsh exfoliators! The worst I have tried is from Origins - Modern Friction. The most expensive one I bought was from Revive and it is very grainy and every time I used it my face would be a little red. But I kept using it :| I found a gel one I use now but it's okay - nothing amazing.

I wonder if it would be alright to switch between Cure & Nokdu?

  2. Hi Nicolle :)!!!

I like how CURE Natural Aqua Gel easily removed the dead skin cells (and considering it is 90% water too, no parabens, sulfates, color, or fragrances which is a plus)- without it forming a cellulose film on the skin. You just apply it and all your dead skin cells come right off, but it did not make my skin dewy and soft, neither did it hydrate it.

The Nokdu Peeling Gel is somewhat of the same process, takes a bit of time, but I don't mind it because it does the same action - but leaves skin VERY DEWY AND SOFT, and even moisturizes the skin!!! I really enjoy the fresh scent in the product, although in my opinion, neither is the color (green) and scent necessary.

I honestly recommend both products - if you are concerned with added preservatives, than the CURE Natural Aqua Gel would be the best pick.

Ingredients: Water (90.66%), Glycerin, Crosspolymer, Dicocodimonium Chloride, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract, Buytlene Glycol.

In my opinion, the Nokdu Peeling Gel had more benefits in actually moisturizing the skin, plus removing the dead skin cells without abrasive beads. Ugh! I seriously hate when these companies add grainy rough beads to remove the dead skin cells - don't they know it causes scratches on the skin and can cause pre-mature aging!

It is up to your own personal preference. Me personally, it is best to stick with one exfoliant (one may end up going to waste) - especially for this case because you only exfoliate twice a week (depending on your skins needs) and the CURE Natural Aqua Gel can only be used for 4 months because there are no preservatives to keep its shelf life longer! Both last quite some time though!!!

Both exfoliants are great because they do the job, and I highly recommend them!!!

I hope this helps Nicolle! :)

  3. hi korean skin care,
i could not find the dark green tube on gmarket. Instead, plenty of light green coloured tubes are displayed. Has the packaging changed or been upgraded?

  4. Hi Anonymous :D!!!

Hmm, it may be the lighting of the photo - but the Nokdu Peeling Gel has been upgraded. The older version was: Coreana Pure Cells Nokdu Pure Peeling Gel, the upgraded version is Coreana ECO 36.9˚ Nokdu Pure Peeling Gel - look for the latter version!

For many of the Coreana Nokdu products especially, the pictures of the products are very light, which can be questioning. Look for the upgraded version though!!!

If you need any help please let me know!!! :)
